Ripple Launches Ripple Mint to Expand Institutional RLUSD Adoption

Ripple Mint gives institutions secure tools to manage RLUSD across blockchains with automation, compliance, and global accessibility today.

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint to expand institutional access to Ripple USD (RLUSD). The new platform will enable stablecoin operations on multiple blockchain networks. It also provides a more streamlined approach for businesses to handle digital dollar transactions.

Ripple Mint Brings New Tools for Institutional Stablecoin Management

Ripple Mint enables institutions to mint, redeem, bridge, and track RLUSD. These services are available via a web interface or APIs. This means that businesses have the option to go with manual or automated workflows.

Ripple Mint was created for enterprises that deal with a high volume of transactions, the company said. Therefore, the platform focuses on efficiency, visibility, and scalability. It also provides integration with the existing business systems.

Institutions can mint RLUSD directly from the source and redeem tokens as necessary. Besides, they can track transactions in real-time using tracking tools. This helps to minimize the time lag in financial operations.

Ripple Mint includes webhook notifications for important transaction events. These changes include updates to minting, fiat settlement, blockchain transfers, and payouts. This means teams can remain informed throughout the transaction lifecycle.

RLUSD is a product of Standard Custody and Trust Company, LLC. The New York Department of Financial Services regulates the company. So, Ripple claims that the stablecoin is transparent and compliant with regulations.

RLUSD management relied primarily on platform-based services in the past. But the demand for programmable financial infrastructure is still on the rise. Ripple, therefore, created Ripple Mint to meet the needs of modern institutions.

The platform also allows the customer to view balances and request redemptions. Furthermore, each transaction contains a reference ID that improves its visibility. This feature enables institutions to monitor both fiat and blockchain transactions.

Ripple Expands RLUSD Across Major Blockchain Networks

Ripple keeps on growing RLUSD beyond the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. Recently, the company added support for the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain. The idea behind this is to expand access on blockchain networks.

Ripple believes that stablecoins should be available everywhere there is liquidity and applications. As a result, RLUSD’s multichain expansion is beneficial for payments, DeFi, and institutional settlements. It also makes it easier for users around the world to access.

The XRPL EVM Sidechain will continue to be a key component of Ripple’s long-term strategy. It is compatible with Ethereum and integrates with the XRP Ledger ecosystem. This means that RLUSD can provide a broader spectrum of financial applications.

Ripple also believes that RLUSD and XRP will complement each other. The company stated that XRP can be used for liquidity, payments, collateral, and settlements. This can help build up assets as more people adopt.

RLUSD is currently valued at about $1.5 billion. But the volume of transfers has dropped by approximately 25% in recent months. This dropped from about $14.6 billion to almost $11 billion.

Despite the downtrend, Ripple is still investing in stablecoin infrastructure. Ripple Mint is the next step in institutional stablecoin services, the company said. Ripple’s compliance, automation, and multichain capabilities are designed to drive the adoption of RLUSD globally.
